Introverted

Introverted means that we are turning inward and away from the object. In the case of Si this means that where as Se orient itself based on what is going on around it. Si orients itself with what is going on inside the subject.

Si in this way doesn't get swept up with events going on around it. It creates an inner representation of the external world. This representation is personal and is trying to reflect the totality of what the object is.

Perception

Perception means that we are simply taking in information about the world. In the case of Si this means that an Si type is trying to come to know the world through experience. They are looking at the world and then as they grow older representing more and more of it. To perceive the world as it is and to be able to see the most important elements of it is the goal of Si.

Denotative

Denotation is when you describe a thing as it simply is bringing nothing new to it. In the case of Si what this means is that Si is looking at the concrete properties of objects and representing that. It deals with real objects that exist in the world and then tries to represent them wholistically.

Sensation

In the case of Si sensation makes it a very grounded matter of fact function. In this way it is directly tied to Denotation. In the sense that Sensation is Denotative Perception. Si is also the function that deals directly with the world for a Ne/Si type.

Pi

Pi has the agenda of perceiving reality correctly. What this looks like in the case of Si is being very dutiful and careful in perceptions. Going through all the information you have about some topic or thing and carefully sifting through it with the aim of discovering the reality of an object.

Ne/Si Axis

Ne/Si as an axis is a universal axis. This means that Si as a function tries to take in an incorporate the totality of different perspectives that exist on an object. To see the breadth and fullness of the object and see that in the world.
