Introverted

Introversion is an inner turn in which the inner world is the focus. In which you draw away from the object and go inward.

In the case of Ni what introversion does is that it makes Ni distrust the world. Ni wants to know what is going on about the world not from objective indicators but from it's own validation.

Another thing that Introversion does to Ni is it makes it hard to follow. All introverted functions have this quality. The reason being is that introversion is tied up with the subjective of the person. In order to understand this subjectivity you have to really come to know the person themselves and their inner world.

Perceiving

Perceiving is concern with coming to know the world through experience.

Ni is focused on engaging with it's experiences.

Connotation

Connotation is about what the object can mean or imply. It is the other side of denotion.

In the case of Ni what this does is bring in that obscure quality. Where people can sometimes struggle to follow the Ni type due to the abstract personal nature of the things they can talk about.

Both introversion and intuition are connotation. This makes it about not what the thing is but about what it implies. So you have to do a lot of reading in to make sense of what is happening and this can be hard.

Intuition

Intuition is about seeing the abstractions in the world. It deals with concepts, ideas, potentials and the other parts of experience that is not directly manifest.

Ni is in this way seeing with ideas. It is looking at it's experience of the world and with the inner eye trying to perceive what the things around it really mean. It is slowly and carefully sifting through reality and trying to ascertain the hidden motive or significance.

Pi

Pi is concered with making sense of the world holistically. It does this by contextualizing the knowledge it learns. So Ni does this by making sense of ideas in relation to other ideas. In this way it is like a massive library filled with information.

This is way Ni can be very reflective and contemplative. As it takes different experiences it has had and then uses old insights to generate new insights in a slow meandering way. Ni ultimate goal is to see the world as it is and it uses all the experience it builds up over time to do this.

Ni/Se Axis

Ni/Se is contextual perception. This makes it very individualistic and very focused on figuring out what their own experiences mean. When Ni/Se sees something for itself it is then very hard to convince otherwise. In order to understand Ni/Se the person needs to see the world from the perspective of the Ni/Se type.

Due to this Ni/Se can be very penetrative and deep, while Ne/Si is very broad and encompassing. Ni/Se digs deeper and deeper into particular experiences while Ne/Si zoom out and looks at more and more different perspectives on a thing. These two different motions can show you the difference between these two concepts.
